can this be our first home?

Sorry for keeping you all waiting... but the bank was just taking so long!

I'm going to skip all the longgggggg details and get to the point.

-We made an offer on a foreclosed/bank owned home

-The Bank made a counteroffer

-We accepted the Banks offer

-We now pray that inspections will go well

-If all goes well we will closed on the house below on Oct. 9Th 2009!!!!!!!!!

There is a TON of work that is needed on this home. Like for starters... it needs a kitchen. (see below)

But don't worry this will be so much fun for Steve and I to fix up. Can't wait!! Now lets just pray the inspection goes well and we can close on the 9Th!!

Offer is on the table

Dun dun dun dun......

As of 6:45pm we officially have made an offer on a cute and wonderful home. A home that will fit Steve and I for a whole life time, or if we choose just for a few years. There is a bunch of work that is needed, but it will be fun to work along side of Steve and Mr. Jimmy Lee (and every other kind hearted soul that is willing to help out!!!) :)

Wish us luck! We should know more information tomorrow, so prayers are much appreciated.

Love to you all.

First time inside

Yesterday was our first walk-in! We visited 9 homes and we even got to go inside the one house that got let go. My thinking on seeing that house was... well maybe if something happens with the other persons loan, or something falls through for them, then we are next in line. OR if the house was just awful inside I wouldn't feel bad about it 'getting' away. Well the house was AMAZING!! Shame on me! I have to remember, it wasn't in Gods plan.

Anyways, we went hunting inside of homes from 9am to 5. LONG day. Only found one other house (besides my dream house) that was worth checking into. Here are a few photos from the hunt....

The first photo is from a home in Crystal Lake. There was NO yard. Reason why? They built a shop. Steve and I would like to have both a shop for Steve and a yard for Tovi. Too bad this one wasn't it.

The second photo is of a cute charmer in Woodstock. A freshly built kitchen, but besides the holes in the roof... the bedrooms were 9x7 and Steve couldn't even stand up straight.

The third house is a quad level home in Wonder Lake. It has a cuteness about the home, but it's a quad level and the photo showcases the work in the lower basement that would need to be done. Oh and all the appliances are gone, the only thing left in the kitchen is a sink, a counter that is messed up, and one cabinet under the sink. Oh and there is a fence, or I mean fence posts. So we would have to put up all the missing boards.

Long day, and still more to come. We have about 7 more on a "interested in going inside" list. This is quit an adventure, exciting yet frustrating, adventurous yet exhausting ride of our lives!

Oh and this was from right before we left to go house hunting. Tovi in my bath robe. Yes, I have a bath robe.

A little disappointment

Not gonna lie... really disappointed about tonight. God definitely has plans for me that I don't know about. (PS: Man up stairs, please feel free to share your master plans for me in my dreams tonight. That would be simply lovely!)

We had a schedule for our first house showing at 6:30pm. This house was an amazing cape cod with all the charm in the world, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and an amazing 2700 sq feet! (A little too much room for us but that wasn't the down fall!). Basically it was my dream house if I could draw one up on paper. It was slightly out of our price range; however it was a banked owned home and we thought we might be able to offer lower.

Well around 4:45 I get a call from our realtor saying she has bad news. She said the house that we were going to look at tonight has been put under contract this afternoon. My heart dropped. I was so upset because for the first time all my ducks were starting to line up in a row; however this one got lead astray.

But I have to look on the positive side of things. As I would tell Steve, look at it with the glass half FULL!!! So 1: God is holding out on an amazing house that he has in store for us. 2: Maybe if we would have gotten 'that' house we would have dough in deeper than we thought and in the long run would have been in financial trouble. 3: What if we made an offer and had to wait for 3 months to just receive disappointing news. It's better to find out now, rather than after waiting for 3 months. 4: We are lucky enough to even have a home to live it at the moment and should be thankful for my parents who don't charge us rent. 5: We still have each other.

So on the flip side of things.... it’s back to square one. I'm wondering when I asked God to open the right doors for us and close the ones that need to be closed, I really should have been more specific. :) All jokes aside, we will take this house hunting another day by day and hopefully one of those days God will unmask the beauty that we have been waiting for.

on the hunt

So today is the day!! At 6:30 we view our fist home. You better believe I'm bringing my camera :)

connect to MLS

Officially house hunting! We just got our link to connect to the MLS and we couldn't be more excited. (Just want to give a shout out to God right now. Without him and the many prayers this wouldn't be happening right now, so thank you Jesus!)

...please check the box if your thoughts on the house are 1. interested 2. maybe or 3. not interested......

Oh happy day!

So on our journey of this house hunt, I have been reading and looking around at everything and anything that has to do with fixing up a fixer-upper. And boy o boy, look what I found.

What a difference a coat of paint, and some landscaping can do to a place!

This just goes to show that if a house we find has an out-dated kitchen, there are always possibilities.

Until next time...

AMLP doc.

A Million Little Pieces Documentary....

What: One thousand people from around the world will document their lives in 24 frames using a disposable camera. An exhibition will be held showing over 24,000 photographs.

When: September 25Th, 2009 at the Art House Gallery in Atlanta, GA.

Why: Because I'm in it! I am one out of the 1,000 people who get to take 24 photos of my life! (I know, cool right?) I am overLEE excited to participate. I actually have taken a few photos since I received the camera (83 days ago) and I have 5 photos remaining. I'm in love. What will I ever find interesting enough that is apart of my life to take 5 more photos of?

So on that note, guess who is going to Atlanta GA on the 25Th of SEPTEMBER? Who's in?!
